Can ski bindings be adjusted to any boot size?
I am thinking about buying my own skis and don’t have a ton of money. I see on craigslist that people are selling used skis at reasonable prices. If I were to buy skis on craigslist that already have bindings, will I be able to have the binding adjusted to any ski boot? How does that work, I don’t plan to do it myself but wanted to make sure I would be able to take it into a ski place and have it done. How much would that cost?

It wouldn’t be too expensive to adjust the bindings if u buy them just take them to your local ski shop and buy a tune up it should only be like $20 and most ski bindings are adjustable. adam d
Yeah most if not all modern bindings can be adjusted to any boot size. You can take it to a shop, but I would make sure that they have the proper equipment to ensure the bindings are fully functional, especially if they are used. ChalkyBarracuda
Ski bindings have a limited range of adjustment. If a set of skis are drilled and mounted to fit a size 12 boot for example, the bindings can be remounted (skis re-drilled) to fit a size 8 boot. If your boot’s sole length is within an inch of the previously used boot, there’s a good chance the bindings can be simply adjusted by sliding the heel-piece.
Many newer skis have a plate system which eliminates having to use a jig to drill the skis when moving the binding placement.
A more important consideration for you will be making sure to purchase skis with bindings which are indemnified by the binding manufacturer. Basically, indemnified means that the manufacturer certifies it’s dealers to service that particular binding model. On the same note, make sure there is a dealer for that binding mfg close enough to you for service.
You can check binding model indemnification by google searching the “BRAND indemnified bindings”
