I get to choose our vacation in 2012, and I would like to go on to a ski resort. We are planning on going in February 2012. Can anyone recommend a ski resort that would suit four people (two parents 12 year old girl, & 11 year old girl)? We would probably stay for 6 days 5 nights. Thanks in advance and Happy New Year!

I’m planning a trip to the Denver/Boulder area in early November and wondered whether I could hike and/or cross country ski. Should I be concerned that trails in hiking areas like Rocky Mtn NP will be mostly inaccessible because of ice/snow but the nordic skiing areas will not have enough snow? Or am I pretty much guaranteed either good hiking or good XC skiing?

75% of the Colorado ski resorts seem to be located near I-70. Is the snow not very good along Hwy 285? Is this an arid area of the rockies and all the snow dumped on the other side?

My husband and I want to try something different. We went to Vegas in June and had a good time, but I want to find something more romantic to do. Neither of us has ever been skiing before, but we really want to try something out of the norm. I am thinking of a romantic five night trip sitting in front of the fire sipping on cocoa and eating marshmallows. We would rent a car so we could take a tour of the city.

Any suggestions? Nothing that is ridiculously expensive. We will be flying out of DFW.
