i have 2000 gtx jet ski when i start it the starter goes off but it does not cranck over?

i have a 2000 sea doo gtx jet ski. i put a new battry and found out the strater was stuk. so i pulled the started off i added grease to it n tested it . after i use used pilers to get it unstuk it worked i poped it back in. and now the starter goes off but its not crankin the engien over at all? what can it be now?
