Its rather lowly but a steal in price. I got fitted for boots and what i think are appropriate length skis with bindings (between nose and chin). I know i got some great skis at a good price but do you recommend this when boots alone can run up 400 bucks or more? Or do you think it would be wiser to get professionally fitted?

I’m 5′11 and about 165 lbs. I want to purchase the volkl wall skis. I’m not sure what size I should get. I demoed the 161 and the 169. Also, what would be good bindings and boots for this ski?

I am going to Maine for a little while and I was wondering what were some good stores around Maine to buy ski equipment. I am looking for a store that has a large selection of boots and ski’s. The location around Maine does not really matter because I am going to be traveling the state, I am more concerned about the selection and customer service. Thanks for the suggestions.

Normally i wear:

one of those masks that covers your head, ears, mouth and part of your nose and a helmet over that. A columbia jacket with the liner in and a sweater. snow pants. not overalls. 100g insulation gloves (my hands sweat in them. is that part of the problem?). ski socks, basically wool socks and the boots.

After skiing for a couple of days my feet start to peel. I wear good socks and try not to get too much water in my boots. Other skiers I know don’t get this. Am I doing something wrong? Is it because my feet are different?
