Is it easy to switch from skiing to snowboarding ?

Im thinking about snowboarding this season. I’m a cracking skier but i cant get the jumps big enough to hit any twist so i was wondering if i should change to snowboarding so in a few seasons time i can hit some sweet jumps (i only go for one week). i tried it for two days last year and got frustated becasue my dad was holding the lessons back . They were private lessons.
