first, you need a clean pair of insulated sox for each day. then of course thermal underwear, t-neck and sweater as well as a coat/shell, both pants and coats. good gloves/mittens and maybe even liners. remember more cotton clothing is’tn more insulation…
also, 70% of heat loss is thru your scalp/head, a good hat (yeah this sucks as they itch). ez80227
You will want to dress for the weather like any activity. How cold is it going to be? What would you normally wear if you had to walk to work in that sort of cold. If you plan to be active you can usually dress a little lighter.
The key when skiing is to remember you NEED a wind resistant layer. I often ski with just jeans and a pair of wind pants on my lower body. A wind proof jacket/coat with some way to cinch up the arms and waist is important as well.
Depending on your level of skiing you may want to wear water proof layers(most wind proof layers are also water proof). If you don’t fall down much don’t sweat this point.
Last thing to worry about is the head, helmets are good because they offer protection from wind and impact and are usually quite warm. A lot of resorts and hill will rent you a helmet very cheap or free with equipment. After that goggles, they will keep the wind and sun out of your eyes and most have tint that helps you see hidden bumps in the snow.
If it is cold enough you will want a face mask or to be able to work some magic with a scarf.
Price range? That really depends on how cool you want to look. You can get some cheap and warm clothing and throw on a bunch of mismatched layers pretty cheap. If you want to buy the whole ski suits you could be looking at hundreds of dollars.
Just remember; Dress for the weather; be wind proof: be water proof. E
This question has been asked at least 200 times on here. You really had to ask it again???? Annie
well, obviously a decent pair of nowpants and a jacket, definitely some thick ski socks, those would really help. gloves, hat, goggles, etc. goggles would be really important because incase it’s snowing even a little, that gets in your eyes and you can’t see at all. and i would REALLY suggest a gator, those help a lot!
