You have to understand that Colorado is filled with ski areas and resorts and you'll have to decide what your looking for by doing a little research. There is no "affordable" lodging near the ski slopes during ski season (and no one has any idea what's "affordable" for you). The ski season is generally from late November through mid-April. If you ski early or late in the season, you will find better deals. Any time between Christmas and late March is high season and can be very expensive.
